Traveling, in Barbados or elsewhere, is not always easy, because you have to worry about finding cabs, restaurants, or a clear path to the sea on your own. Unless you book an all-inclusive resort, that is. Here’s a short list of all-inclusive resorts in Barbados.

Activities include tennis, sail boating, snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking, water skiing, and fishing. Some rooms and suites, part of a $15 million facelift to the entire resort, face the sea, but most are built around the pools and the gardens. Gourmets can try the breakfast buffets and the four-course lunches at the main dining room – or savor Water’s Edge seafood or Enid’s West Indian cuisine.

Situated in the middle of the beautiful South Coast of Barbados, this resort evokes the very essence of Caribbean charm. This modern, beachfront resort is large and affordable, and is a great venue for marriage and local businesspeople. The staff is friendly and the beach is beautiful. If your pockets are deep enough, you can rent a seafront suite; if you’re more budget-minded, you can rent one of the rooms facing the street. You can dine at the sumptuous Wytukai, the island’s only Polynesian restaurant.
The Savannah

More a hotel than an all-inclusive resort, The Savannah is a good alternative for those want to discover Barbados on their own and find the atmosphere of a tourist resort sterile and absent of local culture. It’s conveniently within walking distance from the Garrison historic area, the Barbados Museum, and the racetrack – and just ten minutes from down town Bridgetown by car. You can rent a room in one of the two modern wings that spill down to the beach from the main building, once the historic Sea View Hotel. A popular venue for local businesspeople, Boucan Restaurant is quite busy at lunchtime. The only drawback is it’s not a good choice for families with children.
