Couples Tower Isle by Jenny
I have a lot of great things to say about this resort. I went there with my husband 3 years ago and it was worth every penny! It was such a beautiful resort, the food was delicious, and I spent a lot of time in their spa. The package came with a couples massage, which I really enjoyed.
Service was impeccable, when we arrived there was a problem with one of the lights in the room. I made a call down to the front desk, and there was a repairman there in less than 10 minutes. I’ve been to other resorts since then and it’s always been difficult to get that level of service.
The tour operators were convincing, and I ended up going on 2 different excursions (normally I don’t go on any except maybe shopping). The zipline through the jungle was terrifying, but fun! I also did the day trip to Dunn’s Falls, which was absolutely beautiful. I have some very memorable pictures from that day.
I love this resort so much that I’m dragging some friends to go back this fall. I can’t wait!
Sandals Grande Ocho Rios
My wife and I stayed here on our 30th wedding anniversary. We go down to the Caribbean quite often, and have a few favorites but my son insisted that we try this resort. I was impressed to say the least, it’s the best resort I’ve stayed at in 5-10 years.
When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by the staff with white wine and champagne. After a long, hot bus ride I really appreciated a nice cold drink. Our rooms looked brand new, which was nice as I’ve stayed at resorts where the room had some visible wear and tear. My wife and I were very tired from travelling all day, so we just unpacked and fell asleep.
We strolled around the resort the next day, and I must say it was very beautiful. Breakfast was delicious, very good for “island” food. I’ve gotten accustomed to not expecting much from resorts, food-wise, but this was actually quite good.
There weren’t many things to complain about on this trip, most of the things I can think of weren’t really the resort’s fault. I had some problems with our luggage at the airport, etc. but I can’t hold that against Sandals. They really did everything they could to make our vacation wonderful.
Sandals Dunn’s River Villagio Golf Resort and Spa
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sandals Dunn’s River Villagio Golf Resort and Spa with my wife. It was a paradise, I really couldn’t have asked for more from a resort. The grounds were beautiful, the food was great, everything was really perfect.
When I first got there, I had a bit of a headache from the ride from the airport. I asked the concierge if they had any aspirin, and they rushed some out for me. Talk about service. It only got better from there. I can only imagine that anybody who encountered poor service must have been extremely demanding or extremely rude, because I can vouch that the staff were always courteous and polite. I ended up leaving a $50 tip because I thought they really earned it.
I tried out a few of the recommended excursions, like the horseback riding. Not really my thing, ended up getting some itchy bumps all over my legs. The strength of the resort is really it’s intimate setting for couples, I think my best memories of the resort involve just lying by the beach with my wife, and enjoying a quiet dinner together. I’ve recommended this resort to several friends since then.
